Find out how to care for luxurious velvet fabric
Due to its thick, luxurious pile, velvet absorbs spills and stains quite easily and can be difficult to clean. It has slightly lower light resistance than other fabrics and should be kept out of direct sunlight so as to avoid any fading or sun damage.
With normal use, the pile could flatten or become crushed, but regular vacuuming with a soft brush attachment should help to revive the pile. Velvets can be cleaned using the specially developed products from our fabric care kit, although care should be taken to never use too much water as it may damage the fabric. Please follow the instructions included with the care kit.
Important tip: To avoid water marks after cleaning we advise that you dampen a colourfast cloth with warm water and gently wipe the entire panel or cushion from seam to seam. This will help to prevent any water stains as the fabric dries.
